Startup Suicide

In my time I've seen two different ways in which startups usually choose to commit suicide or succeed.

"Business Kosher"

"Business Kosher" is a term I invented a while back that I would like to share with you. This one might get me into a little trouble with my more fastidiously religious acquaintances, but this stone must be cast.

Collaboration and the meaning of Email

If you work in Israel then there is a good chance that you collaborate with teams abroad on a regular basis. After all, we are a country deeply immersed in IT and online start-up ventures with very rich human capital....the math is rather simple.

Commoditization in e-commerce

In my experience, one of the great fears in etailing is the commoditization of mass merchandise—the fear that a merchant’s entire online presence (or even their actual store) will be reduced no more than a list of product data for consumers to wade through, making one merchant indistinguishable from another.  The outcome of which is the nullification of the service and experience factors that have traditionally gone along with the retail purchasing process.

Schmoozer or Closer?

This a good article from one of my favorite sites, Inc.com.

Similarly, I've often thought that in business there are "presenters" and "deal makers".

Jews in Boxing

I have been a big fan of boxing for a long time. I've even practiced and taught it quite a bit. Naturally, Jewish boxers rank high in my pantheon of athletic heroes.

The Dan Leubitz Roast!

I had the great opportunity to roast a great friend tonight for his Birthday. Dan is a great guy and I was very honored to be asked to present. Andi put together the event and it was tremendous, I'm sure she has inspired a great many people with this fantastic party idea.

So, it was my first time on the comedic stage, if you will (and I shall). I got a lot of compliments, it was great!

What I've learned from Israel

I moved to Israel from the US going on a decade a go.

It was an ideological and romantic decision. As a Jewish kid from the US looking for meaning--and with a fire in my heart for this country--it made all the sense in the world. It's not something everyone can understand, but I liken it to a Transformer moving to Cybertron...the motives of which I think are quite clear.

So what have I learned on this journey?

Career, inspired by Israel

Hi All,

My journey to and within Israel has placed me smack dab in middle of one of the most technologically vibrant locals in the world. Hi-tech is really where it's at here. Whereas Israel has virtually no natural resources, it has an abundance of rich human capital and ambition within the native population and immigrant population alike that have proved a boon for the tech sector.
